野村望東尼、死す。/慶応3（1867）年11月6日
慶応3年11月6日、勤皇歌人・野村望東尼が山口で亡くなりました。享年62歳。
望東尼は福岡藩出身。夫の死後、出家し、５４歳の頃から勤皇の志士達と交流するようになりました。
望東尼の住む平尾山荘は高杉晋作ら勤皇の志士達の隠れ家になっていました。
慶応元年福岡藩の弾圧「乙丑の獄」により１１月末玄海灘の孤島姫島の獄屋に幽閉されましたが、翌年９月には、高杉晋作の手配により救出。下関に逃れました。
慶応3年4月、高杉の臨終を看取り、辞世の句
晋作「おもしろき こともなき世を 面白く」
望東尼「すみなすものは 心なりけり」
と下の句を作ったことは有名です。

★1945年、GHQ,財閥解体命令を出す
