橋本佐内ら処刑される（安政の大獄）/安政6（1859）年10月7日

安政6（1859）年10月7日、昨年からの井伊直弼による弾圧政策（安政の大獄）で獄中にあった儒者の頼三樹三郎、越前藩士橋本左内らが処刑されました。
橋本佐内は緒方洪庵の塾に学んだ語学力を生かし、開明的な施策を提言しました。しかし、将軍の継嗣問題に介入したとして死罪。享年26歳でした。
頼三樹三郎は山陽の息子、尊攘の士と交わり、天下を混乱させたとして死罪、享年35歳。
　非情な井伊大老の独裁に反発が高まり、後の桜田門外の変につながっていきます。
