源頼朝、伊豆で挙兵。/治承4（1180）年8月17日
治承4（1180）年8月17日、源頼朝が伊豆で反平氏の兵を挙げました。
頼朝は20年前に平清盛によって伊豆の蛭ケ小島に流され、読経三昧の日々を送っていましたが、伊豆の豪族・北条時政の娘・政子と恋仲になり、結婚しました。
この日は伊豆一の宮の三島大社の祭礼の日でした。
平氏の一族で伊豆の目代の山木兼高の屋敷でも多くの武士が祭りに出かけ、警備が手薄になっていたところをついて夜襲をかけ、兼高を討ち取りました。
この後、頼朝は石橋山の戦いで平氏に敗れますが、富士川の戦いで勝利し、鎌倉に拠点を移して権力を握っていきます。
