徳川吉宗、八代将軍に就任。/享保元（1716）年8月13日
1716年、徳川吉宗に対する将軍宣下の儀が江戸城で行われました。
吉宗は紀州藩主の三男でしたが、兄二人が早世したため藩主となりました。
藩主時代も新田開発と商業振興などで藩財政を立て直していました。将軍に就任以後は目安箱の設置、質素倹約、武芸、学問の奨励、新田開発、上米の制を定めるなど、数々の改革を推し進めていきました。
